The free registration gives you full access to all areas of the site.  You can opt-in to receive the weekly on-line e-zine that will feature an article on construction, alternative energy, industry trends, issues and any number of other topics pertaining to better, more efficient home building for truly customizing your home to match your energy lifestyle.  Gone are the days of "customizing" a home just on floor plans.  You may also opt-in for project announcements and tours as well as invitations to special seminars.

The two levels of paid subscriptions are targeted primarily to people who are fairly sure they will be building within a couple of years or even later.  Here's what you get:

The paid subscriptions are designed to promote smart and energy efficient building AND allow members lock-in major savings on essential planning, engineering, plan/price reviews, and "green" energy products, regardless of when you build or whether you use a network builder or not.  In addition, if you do choose to use a network builder, then there are additional price breaks available only through your paid subscription.

In order to promote efficient building, we've searched out the top companies in their industries and negotiated these discounts to help our subscribers reach their goals.  These services are not sold through the Preferred Builders Network of Texas.  We do not get any commissions, fees or compensation if you use their services.  

Custom.  In addition to the free membership benefits, it provides for discounts on the specific services over time:

For $29.95/month, this provides you with discounts on critical services needed to build a very energy efficient home.  This subscription service is set up for people who are at least a year out on their construction and would like to lock in big savings before they actually start.  Each service discount will accrue for each month a subscriber stays with the service.  If someone needs all the discounts immediately, then they can prepay a year’s subscription and get all the discounts now.  These services and discounts are:

1)    Immediately effective: 4 total hours of personal consulting time during the planning stage of your project.  $400 savings.

2)    Second month: Pre-design plan review, cost estimates.  Normal charge: $350.00.  Free to subscribers.

3)    Third month: two free tickets to the Texas Alternative Energy Roundup.  Approximately $30 value at the gate.

4)    Fourth month: Canned plans or design services, $100 off regular pricing.  Most canned plans are $500.00.  Or the discount can apply to the design services.

5)    Sixth month: Energy audit study.  20% discount.  Standard service runs anywhere from $600 to $2000, depending on square footage.  Minimum $120 savings.

6)    Eighth month: Engineered foundation design.  $100 off foundation engineering designs. (This one is tentative, we’re trying to finalize this deal soon)

7)    Tenth month: $250 discount on spray foam insulation for total house encapsulation.

8)    Twelfth month: $250 discount on any super-efficient landscape lighting package.  This outdoor lighting system is designed to use 80% less electricity than comparable lighting systems on the market.

That’s a total of $1600 in savings with this subscription.

Premier: With this level you get all the free and Custom benefits, PLUS:

1)    8 total hours of personal consulting time for your project.  An additional $400 savings.

2)    In addition to the pre-design plan review and cost estimate, provide alternative energy energy review.  Saves an additional $250.

3)    Same $100 off canned plans, or $250 off custom design services.

4)    Energy Audit: 25% discount up to 50% discount

5)    $500 discount on spray foam insulation for total house encapsulation.

6)    20% discount on entire super-efficient landscape lighting for any package over $4,000.00   Minimum $800 savings.

7)    $1000 discount on full GC services from one of our network member builders.

8)    $250 off SWP3 Design.  This is the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan as required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).  Most builders are not aware of this requirement and can be subject to massive penalties if not in compliance.  Don't put your project in financial jeopardy.  Plans start at $500, savings: $250.00

9)    $500.00 off alternative power system package (solar, wind).  This is hot technology and discounts are really tough to get.

10)    Invitations to private home viewings and pre-event parties and special seminars/presentations.

The premier subscription is $79.95/month and when fully utilized provides a savings of at least $5,330.00
